Wells

Any drink prepared with liquor deemed by a particular bar as "wells". All bars have different brands of "wells liquor". Usually this is their cheapest liquor and is used in most drinks unless a specific brand of liquor is "called" (requested).

well

The well is the shelf under the bar where they keep liquor at hand for mixing drinks. So, a well brand or house brand is the brand of liquor served when a customer requests a drink by its generic name (e.g. gin and tonic, scotch and soda). It's usually the least expensive brand served, as opposed to more expensive call brands.

Order me a Jack and Coke. Their well brand tastes like bathtup gin.

Welling

A nonchalant way of saying that someone is bullshitting. The "weller" is usually egotistical and tries to explain something they truly don't know in order to appear intelligent. It's also often associated with flapping of the shirt near the collar (like on a hot humid day)in order alleviate themselves from bullshit overload and is now the international way of insinuating that someone is welling.

Albert: "I wonder why you have to prepay for gas in NJ."
Chris: "Well you see well well the gas pump numbers just keep rolling thats why. I know this because I read up on it back when I went to Berklee university."

1. He's so good at welling if he went on jeopardy he'd have an answer and explanation for every question.

2. You'll always feel safe with a weller because what you don't know, they'll always have a confident answer for.

well then

".. well then.."

A phrase used to change topics suddenly from a strange, weird, "interesting" or un-interesting topic, not necessarily to bring a new topic, but just to change the old one.

Similar to "interesting.. "

Mike: "who died?"

Jim: "My dog, man! My dog died last night.. and as I went to bury him, I saw Dave sleeping in the backyard!"

~car explodes~
