a person of high intelligence or drive at a certain hobby. Stereotypes portray them as:
-ugly
-wearing glasses
-bad sense of fashion
-allergic to almost everything
-scrawny
-computer loving
ect.
The inconvienent truth for jocks about these Stereotypes is that only 10% of the geek and/or nerd population even has many of the traits listed above
Girl 1:"Omg marcus was reading a Harry Potter Book hes such a nerd."
Girl 2: "I like harry potter."

4. Bad term: Someone who excludes others for not being a radical nonconformist.aka geek or video gamer

Someone who excels at a certain subject. Usually have good grades in every subject.
Often confused with geeks, which do not have to be smart. A geek is someone who is generally; not athletic, enjoys video games, comic books, star trek, yugioh, etc. based off Sknywhtboy88's definition of geek.
As I am a nerd, I can say that it is offensive to call a nerd a geek.

A generally intelligent individual who has an in-depth interest (or interests) in a particular area, far more than the average joe. They are typically cast as having a lack of social skills and "no life", whatever that may mean. All of these statements may or may not be true, depending on the person.
Bill Gates once observed that you should "be nice to nerds. You'll probably end up working for one one day", or a similar phrase.
Nerds either do or do not share one or more characteristics with geeks, depending on who you ask.
They also seem to be somewhat bitter at the possibly unjust typecasting they receive on behalf of society at large. Nerds generally get victimised by society for their difference, and so seem to feel the need to fight back by "reclaiming the term" to mean something good. Their general (but by no means pervasive) lack of social skills means that much of this "nerd and proud" vitriol is vented on the Internet and nowhere else.

someone who is smart and doesnt care about athletics. An easy scapegoat even though they will probably owning the company that will employ you.
