a decent semi punk rock band. the only driving force behind the new cd is idiots with no taste. i'm not saying they suck, or that they're sellouts, but the new album fucking sucks. mtv plays one video, while the radio plays 2 songs, way too fucking much. for my money i'll go get an older cd. fuck the new shit.
Green Day's new cd American Idiot is hypocritical and identical to anything else of the same genre these days.

One of the all time gayest bands. Their lead singer, Billy Joe Armstrong, even looks like a girl, and the other members, Tre Cool and Mike Dirnt, aren't far from it. They either play emo songs where they complain about their life, or songs that make absolutely no sense at all. They are all STONERS (hence the name, "Green Day"). They have made countless albums, but have never been exceptionally good. Their songs have little meaning, their guitar player is less then average, and their drummer is around par. For better music, try Dream Theater, Metallica, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, etc.
Buddy: Hey man, you wanna come over? We could listen to Green Day!
Me: Umm... Riiiight... Do me and favor and chunk that crap. I'll bring my Metallica cd.

Atleast as good as Metallica if not better.
Will be remembered long after Metallica is long forgotten.
Metallica has about 6 so-so albums.
Green Day has 6 solid albums (so far).
Green Day's new album isn't that great but they didn't poop their pants as bad as Metallica did with St.Anger.
Green Day is solid just like Sublime/LBDA.

Nirvana,Sublime/LBDA,Green Day and Beck are some of the best bands of our times.Also notable are Cake and Offspring and Rancid is really cool.RHCP is also okay although they tend to be overrated and overexposed compared to the other's mentioned.Smashmouth's first two albums were pretty kick ass.Satriani and Vai and Eric Johnson and Steve Morse and Gary Hoey,Vinnie Moore,Tony MacAlpine,Greg Howe,Paul Gilbert,Joey Taffolla,Yngwie,Jason Becker,Marty Friedman,Frank Gambale and EVH are all kickass.

Green Day is a soft-core punk band that formed in 86'. This group tries to "fend-off" any 13 year old girl that loves their new albums with their cussing.
"Fuck Yeah!" Billie says as a mother in the audience is covering her 14 year-old son's ears. (Totally Happened...went to a concert.)
They fucking rock live! They have taken on a fake-punk look to impress the generation. It's all bullshit, but their music in Dookie, Kerplunk, or NIMROD is totally them.
They have always followed their own music style. But have lately become pussies with their 2 newer albums. It got them FAMOUS...and they are some catchy songs. BUT WHAT THe Fuck happened? STill luv them

A punk rock band who was originally pretty damn good. That was until they switched to crappy guitar riffs and lucrative lyrics. One of their more recent songs, "American Idiot," called for an end to the Bush Administration, understandably so. However they did so with idiotic testimonies to dumb Americans, and thus further perpetuated the FALSE stereotype of the democrat, as democrats are wrongly considered of being whiney and annoying, just like "American Idiot." If Green Day truly wanted to make a difference in people's political opinions, perhaps they could've written a song that accurately depicted the Neo-conservative movement, instead of singing shitty songs all the way to the bank, while the rest of the rich, white, republican world sang along with them.
They've also written an even more recent emo song, "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" which is by far one of the most annoying, senseless, and ridiculous songs of all time.
1. Wow, you know I'm a liberal, but I think that Green Day is one pussy-whipped band now a days.
2. Instead of listening to crappy Green Day boast about their "understanding" of politics, you should listen to David Bowie or Nirvana, artists who actually know what the hell they're talking about.
