Nintendo tax

Nintendo tax is when a multi-platform video game is priced abnormally high on all platforms as a result of also being released on a Nintendo platform.

Nintendo Switch game prices are notoriously high (called the switch tax) and Nintendo apparently requires some form of parity on prices as part of their contract. As a result, game prices seem to become inflated even on other platforms that are not Nintendo platforms.

Bob: "This game is a straight port of a ten year old game! why is it so expensive??? "
Joe: "look, it's also on the switch... "
Bob: "Ah, I see, it's the Nintendo tax."

Gringo Tax

The extra cost of being a Western tourist in Latin America.

It is the amount ADDED to the real cost of the product or service if you were not a Gringo.

It can be anywhere from 50-300% in my experience.

"Yeah you gotta pay the Gringo Tax too buddy".

Robin Tax

When an unemployed stoner scores a bag of weed for you and then takes a portion out for himself before delivering the bag. This serves as a) compensation for the person's time and effort and as b) a reason for said unemployed stoner to find the motivation to drive across town and score a bag - sometimes even in perilous and hazardous driving conditions.

Ah, man, my bag's a gram short! Damn, I guess I got hit with the 'Robin Tax' again! Oh well, at least he didn't charge me for gas!
