A post-2016 slang term that was stupid and uncool until the game Among Us appeared in 2020 and made it cool again. Should only be used with reference to Among Us, any usage outside of that is just cringe. But to be fair I guess most people who say "sus" nowadays have among us in their minds, so ig it's fine.
Someone in 2017: This guy who dmed me is sus
Me in 2017: Stfu stop saying sus, that term is so stupid.
Someone in 2021: This guy who dmed me is sus
Me in 2021: Dang he must be the imposter.
A structure or a project that is considered to be sustainable
"That building downtown is very sus"

Abbreviation of the word "suspicious" or its derivatives (e.g. suspect)
Initially used in the game Among Us to communicate more concisely who was "suspicious" of being the imposter. Since, it has become a meme of equal magnitude to bruh, pog and other widely overused words.
Its use is satirized to oblivion, and it has basically ceased to contain any meaning. People will say sus as an answer to anything or anyone, in any sentence, randomly yell it or add it as a meaningless adjective.
