Interestingly this goes back a ways! Everytime I say it people look at me like I have 3 heads. Found this:
“A listener in Council Bluffs, Iowa, says his grandmother, born in 1899, used to say I’m feeling punk, meaning “I’m feeling ill.” The term derives from an older sense of punk meaning “rotted wood.” This is part of a complete episode.”waywordradio website.
I won’t be in today, feeling punk.
Typically a kid in middle school who just listened to the Ramones for the first time. Starts wearing leather jackets, checkered slip on Vans, sunglasses that he gets in trouble for trying to wear in class. Can also lead into adulthood if the starter punk music never evolves into deeper punk genres (i.e. post punk, pop punk, folk punk, crust punk, etc.)
"Last month his favorite band was Blink 182 but ever since he heard Blitzkrieg Bop he's gone totally starter punk."
