It's on the 13 of September and it is when you praise and compliment your family or friends
A compliment day goes like this when you see your friends “Youre so beautiful.”
When someone leaves what seems like a nice, innocent comment but is actually a sneaky way of congratulating themselves. Usually for something that doesn't deserve congratulations.
This comment left on a soundtrack that was used in the Umbrella Academy series:
Sneak self-congratulation compliment: "Thank you umbrella academy for reintroducing this to the next generation."
It seems like an innocent comment, but is actually a way for the commenter to congratulate themselves for knowing the soundtrack before it was in the series. The commenter also believes that they are better than the people who are just now discovering it, and that he/she should get a reward for knowing the song for a longer period of time.
An intended compliment that ends up becoming an epic fail
Hey dude, did you hear what our teacher said to me earlier? 'You passed the exam with the highest grade in the year! Well done, it seems you are actually quite good at french!' Massive compliment fail -_-
a small compliment that is presented at the forefront of a hailstorm of insults
Example of a barbed compliment:
"You're a very smart person, but you're so lazy that you can never get any work done. The only thing you're actually good at is being nice to people, and even that is a lie, because of how selfish and self-centered you are. You're honestly just a burden to everyone who knows you."
