fool off

A competition between utter fools to see who is the most idiotic

"I challenge you to fool off!!"

Fool Punk

When someone commits an act which is rather dum dum, you simply call them a 'Fool Punk'

Alan: "What is the time?"
Joe: "Eh I don't know, 3 a'clock?"
Alan: "Its o'clock, you fool punk"
Joe: "Okay" *visibly sad*
Everyone: "What a fool punk!"

Fool's Strawman

An argument strategy in which person A, after calling person B something derogatory, brings up misinformation on a subject which a person rightfully belonging under said derogatory label would be passionate about, even if the information is relatively common knowledge. If person B is struggling for a rebuttal and decides to instead criticize person A's lack of understanding of the subject as a means of degrading them, they will instead end up lending validity to person A's insult by appearing to be knowledgeable on topics which a person belonging to the derogatory label would normally be knowledgeable on. Anyone attempting a Fool's Strawman can appear less intelligent and jock-ish due to the nature of the maneuver, but is usually of higher intelligence than the person they are roasting. It is best explained by example:

A: Wow, I bet you jerk off to those Chinese hentais you f***ing f**g.
B: Haha, those are Japanese not Chinese, you can't even get that right? R****d.
A: I wouldn't know, I don't watch that s**t... you would know though.

As we can see, B falls right into the Fool's Strawman by showing some degree of knowledge on the topic of hentai, thus making A's accusations more credible. Let's keep going:

B: Wow you're so edgy, f***ing memelord using tricks he learned on Urban Dictionary and s**t.
A: What the f**k is a memelord? Are you one of those 4chan f****ts? Are you gonna be triggered if I don't get your gender right?
B: That's not a 4chan thing, that's Tumblr!
A: Sorry, I don't sit on my computer jerking off to hentai and going on 4chan instead of talking to girls.

a fools message

When you call somebody, and their answering machine comes on. However, you think the person picked up the phone so you start talking and telling whatever the reason is your calling. Seconds later you realize the other person is talking too and you just heard a beep, but you've already talked half the tape full and you screw up the other half by trying to explain what happened...

Also leaving a message that completely misses the point, and doesn't contain the reason you called or your name could be considered a fools message.

Dude, I called my date from last night but I totally left a fools message. I don't think she'll go out with me again...

Fool's Mate

A chess trap that only complete morons fall for.

The game is infamous for being the "two move checkmate".

1. f3 e5 (f3 is already a rather useless opening, as no pieces are developed with its aid)
2. g4 Qh4#

White is mated in two moves.

This trap almost never occurrs in actual play, as everyone who has even looked at a chess board knows how obvious this trap is.

A similar trap is the Scholar's mate (which is Black's fastest loss) which goes as follows:

1. e4 e5
2. Bc4 Nc6 (Bishop's Opening)
3. Qh5 Nf6??? (Nf6 is a blunder to rule all blunders)
4. Qxf7#

Black is checkmated.

Again, this trap almost never occurs in regular play.

Most chess courses warn about these traps very early on, so anyone who actually falls for them deserves a dunce hat.

Bob: I played chess with my son, Bob Jr. I played Fool's Mate and he took it hook line and sinker.
Alice: Heh, funny. I started hanging out with the jocks in high school after a nerd humiliated me with the Scholar's mate.
