Mormon

1) A religious cult that is only a few centuries old- survives purely through having tons of children and indoctrinating them (see brainwash)

2) A person who believes in magical underwear and that if you are a white male you will become a god of your own planet

3) A group of people who hijacked Christianity in order to give some kind of legitimacy to their batshit insane religion. A con man named Joseph Smith found plates that for some reason weren't important enough to keep but everyone should just take his word on it. He also got a lot of his revelations through looking into a hat

4) A religious cult who keeps changing its doctrine to hide its racism and ridiculous beliefs

5) Generally nice people who have been systematically misinformed since birth, and as such will fight till the bitter end against any form of reason and will leave tons of boring definitions on urbandicionary, basically devaluing one of the best resources on the web.

Wow you just pulled that entire paper out of your ass! Joseph Smith himself couldn't have done it better! You Mormon spawn?

mormons

to start, the word "mormon" is not the name of our church. it is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints". people use the word "mormon" because of the "Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ". a lot of people dont know the truth about our religon and actually are afraid to know, so they make up lies to make themselves feel better, tougher, and to feel like theyΒ΄ve accomplished something through their lies. this Church is not the Church of Joseph Smith. if it was it would be called the Church of Joseph Smith. he, Joseph Smith, was a prophet called by our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to restore the true Church again on this earth after the great apostasy, or period of time without prophets. a prophet is a man called on earth to be the spokesperson for God for the good of His children here on earth. God restored His priesthood, or power to act and do ordinaces such as baptism in His name, through the prophet Joseph Smith. we do not worship Joseph Smith, that would be against the 1st and 2nd commandments of the ten commandments which we also believe in, which are there is only one God and not to worship idols, saints or anything else in the sky, ground and sea. we worship God, our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. they are seperate beings but one in purpose. the Holy Ghost is also a part of the Godhead, and he testifies of the truthfullness of the Gospel. through and only through the Holy Ghost can we know the truth of all things. if you would like to know more, talk to a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or its represenitives, the missionaries. they can answer any questions you have and help you resolve doubts and concerns. and of course, God our Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers. feel free to pray to Him and ask what is right for you. He knows each and every one of us because we are his children. He will not, and can not lead us astray.

dont be afraid of the mormons, or the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, they dont bite. and no we dont want to just convert you. we want to help you know and understand the truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ lost by the confusion of the world and its many religions, and help you convert yourselves through the power of the Holy Ghost.

-"if any lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally and upbraidth not, and it shall be given him. but ask with faith..." James 1:5-6

-"by the power of the Holy Ghost, ye may know the truth of all things." Moroni 10:5

Extreme Conservative Moronicness

Sounds so melodic you can't hear the offensive undertone. Great to use for moron Mormons and other Normons.

Ex. His mormonicness made him feel astranged.

Mormons

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

We're not a cult, we don't want to force religion down your throat, and we whole-heartedly accept that you have your own opinion. We believe our church's doctrine to be true, yet many of the members are still quite flawed (myself included, as well as many others who have attempted to tell you what we're all about).

If you really want to know about our church, talk to the missionaries. Members have a tendency to twist what we believe in their own ways. The missionaries will (for the most part) set you straight on our beliefs. They will never force what they have to say upon you. If you don't want them around, just politely tell them so. Trust me, I was a missionary myself. You can be mean to them, but they'll just make fun of you (like anybody else would).

The only real way for people to tell us apart from everyone else (and no, it's not our horns...although they're really quite stylish) is from the things we DON'T do. For example, we don't drink coffee or tea, and we don't have sex before we're married. By choice, mind you. Our members are free to drink as much coffee as they want, or look up as much porn as they want. Seems to me that being able to NOT do such things is a great exercise in self-control. Most people don't seem to like that because they themselves do not have the same self-control and they want to put down anyone else who does.

Please don't disparage Joseph Smith. We revere him as a great man. It's not his church, and we don't worship him. We follow our Savior Jesus Christ (although sometimes as members we have a tendency to think of that as a given, and could probably be more vocal about it).

We're not perfect. Neither are you. If you don't like us, that's fine. We accept that. We've heard everything you have to say about us. While most of it is either untrue or twisted, we allow you to have your own opinion. You don't have to join our church, so I don't see why everyone feels the need to condemn us. I don't remember Christ telling us to condemn another who believes and follows Him.

Do you?

I myself am a Mormon and I love our church. We've got some really amazing people who do some really amazing things. I mean...who DOESN'T love the Osmonds??? (That was a joke) But heck! Did you know the dude that invented the TV was Mormon? Holy crap, it's true! Philo Farnsworth. Look it up!

If you want to learn more about us visit Mormon.org or LDS.org. Good luck to us all.

Mormons rock! (just a little lighter than others, that's all)
