They weren't one of the best bands ever but they were good and are still good compared to alot of the crap that came out at the same time and also since then.

1. One of the most important bands in music history and became extreamly popular in 1991 with "Smells Like Teen Spirit" (the name comes from what Kurt thought was a rebellios term at the time, but however turned out to be his girl friend's deoderant).
Headed by Kurt Cobain, Nirvana Popularized the music sub genre of grunde and influenced many other bands. With 50 Million albums sold they are often cosidered to be the best grunge band of all time.
