The Fallacy of Means

When we are led to believe doing wrong will end in good but it ends in evil and failure anyway.

The US government swore tormenting's Pablo with constant E.L.F. broadcasts into standing up for what he didn't believe in would end up being good for the country, but it ended up being an example of The Fallacy of Means when it Really ended in economy ruining sanctions.

King Arthur Fallacy

The belief that a society simply needs to elect the right leader and give the leader all the power they ask for, ignoring that 1) a leader who makes one group happy will hurt another group, and 2) the powers given to the one good leader will still be in effect when their successor takes power.

Person A: "You don't get it! If we can just ignore the Constitution and give (politician) more power, they'll fix everything!"
Person B: "That's the King Arthur Fallacy! As good as King Arthur may have been, he's at the very least mostly fiction, and all the kings that followed still wielded his power, for better or for worse.

Norway Fallacy

The belief that any political issue, no matter its size or scope, has been solved by Norway.

Person 1: "How do we get people to stop doing drugs?"
Person 2: "Norway probably has it solved."
Person 1: "Norway Fallacy. Do you even know anything about Norwegian politics?"

Rounded-Fallacy

- The false, misleading, or mistaken idea that is can appear to be sound and reasonable but still in error.

- Although investigated to be untrue or misleading, the fallacy can still be labelled a sound argument somehow.

- "Look, I see your point, and it sounds like you have thought it through, but, after careful thinking, you are expressing a rounded-fallacy that is unfortunately untrue."

- Conspiracy theorists can point to many indications and pieces of information in order to believe a rounded-fallacy that 9/11 was a set up from the government in order to start a way in Iraq for nefarious reasons. Many would point to this to be false and untrue, however, that could be very difficult to do.

- MAGA supporters believe in the rounded-fallacy that America was once great, but will have to argue how America was great for all ethnic minorities and the ethnic majority within the country.

sam fallacy

The uncontrollable urge to assume that wanting to sleep with your friends' moms is just something everyone does. It's less about logic and more about projecting your own instincts onto the world.

"He said it like it was normal—classic Sam Fallacy vibes."

Litterers fallacy

Argument used to excuse the harm done by one’s actions due to them being only a small part of a large problem.

‘It’s just one bottle cap I tossed man, this city isn’t a dump just cause of me.’
‘Bro, that’s a litterers fallacy.’
