Smarmbro humor usually manifests itself on the pranking side of YouTube, where idiotic teenage boys toe the line between pranking and breaking the law. Smarmbros love to showcase their enormously inflated egos as they scare random people shitless just for kicks.
The smarmbro's condescending attitude toward women should also be noted. Sexual harassment, to them, is just another funny game. Bikini-clad girls make for great playtoys and clickbait.

Dark humor is joking about your own trauma, instead of bashing on people that have done literally nothing to you, that's just called being a dick.

When someone knows he has terminal cancer, and he defuses the sadness for others, quite bravely, by hiding his pain around loved ones.

Fran: Oh, he passed away. You didn't know he had terminal cancer? Didn't you see the bandage on his ear?

If someone in a group says nearly nothing all the time, let others discuss things, just waiting for the perfekt moment to throw in a gag, you can call this behavior humor snipering.
Most of the time followed by a surpised reaction or laughter (not slaughter, that's the difference to real snipering).
Humor snipering is regarded as a high art by some people.

Person 1: As you can see, the communication has never been very good in this family. Suicide is no communication.
