Meep originated from the word peep, which means to make a small noise.
1: I poked the mouse, it meeped.
2: How are you? MEEP!
"Meeps" is a combination word, combining "MEETin", a proper noun, with "peeps", a regular noun. You use the word when you want to reference super cool friends, instead of saying my friends from this social group I belong too.
