A female who has close platonic relationships with homosexual men, often because she has trouble with relationships with heterosexual men. Fag hags often, over time, get delusional impressions of straight men from their gay friends and get confused as to why straight men don't act like their gay friends. This leads to even more relationship troubles for the woman, as her idea of the "ideal man" shifts to the homosexual man. Being a fag hag is generally a phase for women, and it passes as they determine what a straight man can actually give them and what they want out of a straight man.

Not only that, it's a euphamism but it rhymes with itself just to make it sound jazzy. It is MEANT to be left to your imagination as to why the word "bag" is included in the phrase.
