When an individual chooses to favor to political party and or ideology over all of the other ones, which tends to lead them naïve and inconsiderate when trying to address a wide variety of political and social issues.
It is not uncommon for poorly educated people to have political favoritism, because they assume that the political party they support is right usually on many issues and that the other parties tend to be wrong in their eyes. The best way to resolve this problem is to give them a better education on how the government works and what the other parties actually believe.
Some people have to do a lot of manipulating to keep themselves as David to the other guy's Goliath. The Warriors were the clear favorites most of the early 2021-2022 season by record, and really they still have a similar record to the Suns (the team with the top record in the NBA for the last few games), but you still have people calling the Suns and Lakers favorites to win the title (clearly people that don't want people to know they want the Warriors to get the title, but they also want to make it look like they are underdogs that have more setbacks and obstacles ahead of them than other teams before they can get it) . They must be talking about who people would like to see get a title rather than who is most likely to get one, otherwise the manipulation of someone behind the scenes is transparent.
Going by record, the Lakers wouldn't be anybody's favorite to win anything right about now, they've lost as many games as they've won and they are way back behind the Warriors in rankings. They are the team that would have to come from behind to get anywhere, not the Warriors. The Warriors are still heavily favored at this time, and probably will be for a long time.
