Liberalism is the belief in a large and powerful centralized government. This does not mean that every liberal is a communist, but it also doesn't mean any thing about "looking after the oppressed" like so many seem to think it is.
As far as modern liberalism goes, they usually support issuses such as abortion, socialized health care, and the anit-war movement.
Many of todays liberals are composed of college age and younger teens who tend to be more ideological(i.e war is bad in all cases.)
Liberals:Al Gore, John Kerry, and that sister that went to collage and then came back screeching about the plight of wemon in this country

A person who supports no restrictions on somewhat out of the lime light issues (homosexuality, bestiality, criminals, terrorists, communists, dictators, assholes, lawyers, abortion, social responsibility, morals, pedophiles, etc.) yet wants lots of government supervision and restrictions on other issues (gun control, Christianity, war {no war at all}, generally things conservatives support) contradicting their own beliefs. They are not bad people, contradictory to what some people say, but many of the things they support in the hope of bettering society are actually quite damaging. This does not mean they do not improve society either. Conservatives are the opposite of Liberals, and these rules apply to them too, with their extremest beliefs harming and improving society in different ways. It is arguable that a balance of beliefs is the best for society; unfortunately, conservatives and liberals hate each others guts, and rarely if ever discuss topics together or come to a mutual conclusion.
Johnny was a liberal, and he believed that in terms of sexuality and religion, anything was fair game, but he also thought that the federal government should be more powerful than the state governments and that issues such as gun control should closely regulated by the government.

Believes that the United States Constitution was nice back then but now it has become a hurdle in some liberals desperate climb up the power ladder.
liberal- "guns kill people, therefore you cannot own a gun or you will be killing innocent people"
conservative- "my life and the lives of my family depend on my hunting, and its much more effective hunting with a rifle than with a spear"
liberal- "don't worry, we will give you gov. money, gov. food, gov. housing, gov. transportation... just sign all your rights and money away here... and here, and initial here..."

A large group of millions of people and politicians who are rapidly losing respect and credibility. Ever since 2001, their acts of hypocrisy and hatred for the American right has showed their true colors to the entire nation. After the disastrious presidential campaign failure by John Kerry and the badgering and racial slandering of Condoleeza Rice to prevent a voting for her being in the new secretarial position, the liberals hopes, dreams, credibility, and social/moral standing are quickly going downhill.
The lame-o-crats have lost yet another election and are currently doing everything in their power to hinder Bush's efforts. Not that they HAVE much power, anyway.

Small, weak, loud people with no fact or logic behind their poor and groundless arguments (especially dealing with the situation in Iraq). The only things I agree with is their pro-abortion policy and their less-censorship. A party made up mostly of snotty, opinionated college students with no real political beliefs except for what is forced into their heads by fat-dicks like Michael Moore and their pansy professors.
The majority of the party has little or no character and that is displayed by the dozens of imbecilic protests, suicides, etc over the decision to put the more qualified person in the white house. Obviously they believe the president has more power than he actually does. A group that tends to agree with the minority instead of the majority for some odd reason. The adults tend to be as weak and groundless as the college students and kids. Usually tree-hugger yuppies who will either buy a hybrid or an SUV which are almost polar opposites in the automotive world emissions wise.
