Term from the mid 80's in North Western England to describe a person (m/f) with a short temper reacting with anger and/or insult with little to no patience due to provocation.
Background. Benny, a character from the improbably successful TV Show "Crossroads" was a man of a simple nature with a short temper.
Person:"Oi !"
Protagonist:"Fuck you cocksucker. I'll come over there and fucking kick the shit out your fat ugly face!"
Person: "Shit man I was only trying to get your attention. No need to throw a benny!"
A group of angry Jersey shore natives, fed up with the Southward migration each year of beach going New Yorkers (New Yorkahs) and all those who live north of the Raritan Bridge. The group was founded in the Spring of 2005 by locals from the coastal towns of Brick and Toms River. Their primary goal is the elimination of the Benny threat to their sacred sands and coastal waters.

“Benny Boy” is the name of the 3rd song on the EP Hyperviolence by Omerta. It is 2:13 in length and incorporates an array of genres ranging from metal and rap to hardcore and more. The end of the song features a recording of the band members and producer laughing and closing a door after finishing the song, all while a bossa nova song plays softly in the background.
