townies is a lower form of smackhead that can't afford drugs, as such resort to trying to intimadate people into giving them money: "where's me beef, give me all ya money" since the only thing they understand is violence the best thing to do is to smack them in the head, that is unless they out number you about 10 to 1 then you should betend to get some money out and while the're distracted kick them square in the nuts (then run). townie males can usually be identified by there clothe's, a track suit top with a hood up (blue or white) and a black scarf around there face. track suit bottom's that are also blue or white and about 20 quids worth of cheep jewelry. the townie female's can usually be reconised by the track suit tops same as males, denim skirts (short, very short)and make up slaped on with a shovel and (yet again) 20 quid of cheep jewelry.

in america a townie is a girl/boy,man/woman who grew up in and lives in a town/city that has a usually large transient population of prep school/college students (or any transient population.) boston, a big city, has alot of townies, but also a large population of college students, most of whom come from small middle-class and upper-middle-class suburban towns accross america.many of these students are ignorant of urban/big city life and draw the wrong conclusions about townies and from what they've seen in the movies and on tv.
jimmy is a townie from boston. he attends college, but commutes to school and works part-time. jimmy has a strong boston (city) accent which is quite distinctive by middle-america standards. he frequently has to repeat himself when speaking with people from oklahoma and nebraska. it's tacitly understood that a boston (or new york) accent is low-brow and it would be best if he learned to lose it and speak "normal" like he's from greenwich, connecticut.
josh is from suburban washington dc. his natural habitat is sitting in a suv with tinted windows in a fast food drive-thru. when he came of age he had to leave his suburban town to attend college/university. he was taught to believe 99% of kids from "the city" are black and/or hispanic and he has a difficult time relating to a white townie like jimmy who's white like him but talks and acts different, i.e. josh is soft spoken while jimmy sounds and acts more rough. guys like josh are particually uncomfortable around so-called working-class blue collar guys like ups/fedex drivers,mailmen,firemen,etc.;

Someone who wears the latest fashions and follows the trends. However, they find anyone who dresses differently offensive and are likely to come out with phrases such as "your a freak, greeebo!" Also their range of insults covers "greebo" "freak" and "ya mom" Very closed minded

yo bruv us townies is ace innit yer a bunch o battis innit } example of townie, trendy, chav *trying* to speak. Something seems to have messed up these poor creature's brains or something, as they can't seem to speak in coherent sentences to save their lives.
Townies wear tacky clothes, think everyone is a goff, call everyone a batti or a batti boy, pick fights they'd lose without a knife or their big bro to back them up, and think they're well hard. They'll shout abuse at you in the street, try to start fights, and some of the dodgier, braver, more stupid ones might actually knife you.
They seem to be under the delusion that they are American gangstas from NY, really creep around Leeds or Machester or wherever they live (always in abundance), have at least five little ankle-biters crawling around with them in front of the McDonalds, which is the only place they will ever be able to work (unless they want to collect rubbish) as they've failed everything.
They've got their own Townie language and are actually thick enough to think everyone else understand them as well. They think they're popular, but everyone really loathes them.
They'll drink white lightning and smoke cheap fags and are always trying to act stoned or drunk so they can look cool. Their pants are always hanging out of their cheap £1 tracksuits, and they've got IQs less than 0.
Townies are easily confused, and, like all thick-headed twats, don't like being made fools of, but they're mostly more bark than bite.
