Previously used as the adjective version of "tragedy," (n. rare, very seriously bad event, like a deadly earthquake). Now only used when shallowly judging someone else's social or fashion choices.
"Those pants are tragic."
Exclaimation meaning "what a mistake!" or "how terrible!"
"Bryguy was photographed in the bath by his ex- now, it's all over the internet"

Something considered to be an awful and misfortunate event.
