Turning the knob

When you do everything leading up to sex but not the actual deed itself - like turning the knob of a door but not ever actually opening it.

Girl 1: So I spent the weekend over at this one's guy's house this weekend.
Girl 2: Did you guys hook up?
Girl 1: Almost, but not quite. More of just turning the knob, if you know what I mean.

Turned Carny

American 1980s slang for a person that has joined MI6.

Based off of a combination of the American slang word "carny," meaning someone who works for the carnival, and also "The Circus," for the British Secret Service agency MI6.

The former American CIA operative said, "Hey, I heard you turned Carny on us."

"Nope," The Equalizer replied in his English accent, "I just retired."
