The War of the Rebellion, also known as the Civil War was fought for the worst cause of any war in history: to perpetuate the enslavement of human beings by their fellow human beings for monetary gain (not unlike what the modern day Republicans are trying to do). The Stars and Bars is the best known flag of that digusting and vile cause.
We enjoy defiling the Stars and Bars wherever we find it. Especially when it's in the form of a tatoo on a chicken shit fascist.

A type of sex policing based on the idea that a lesbian- identified person is of a higher ranking if they've never had sexual contact with a "man". This reinforces the oppressive idea that a person must have been born with a biological penis in order to be a man, and discriminates against FtM (Female to Male) Transgendered people. It also reinforces the transphobic thought that a person who was born with a biological penis cannot legitimately be considered a womyn (and discriminates against MtF- Male to Female- individuals.) Sex Policing like this is dangerous to our communities because it supports destructive sexist ideals, and encourages the creation of rules and regulations about sexuality & gender rather than encouraging to challenge & break those rules.

A poorly written book with a touching story. It's just a shame, since John Green himself is an admirable man, and the overall plot of the book was alright. He could have done better.
The dialogue is completely awful. The characters are unrealistic and boring, and some parts of the story I find quite inappropriate (the kiss in the museum, the fact that Hazel's mother let Augustus and her venture to a strange author's house by themselves, the fact that Van Houton led a terminally ill girl and a terminally ill boy all the way to Amsterdam, etc).
The ending was unoriginal, abrupt and somewhat unsatisfying to me. It was not an engaging book for me, and was a total and utter disappointment. The hype is undeserved.
(I do not have ANYTHING against people fighting or who have fought cancer, though, please let me make that clear. I have had people in my own family of whom had fought cancer. Believe me, I understand the matter of it. I just personally found the book disappointing.)
