Woke Capitalism

An arrogant, pretentious and self-righteous approach to critical social issues that immediately vaporizes when doing so conflicts with your financial interests.

"Yes, we all do have freedom of speech, but at times there are negative financial ramifications that can happen when you're not thinking about other people’s wallets and you're only thinking about yourself."

“Yah, that dude wasn't edumacated on the situation at hand and it cost me some serious bank.”
“He apparently didn’t get the memo on woke capitalism.”

Fuck capitalism!

A phrase used by those sick and tired of the current class-divided profit-driven capitalist system, who tend to want socialism / communism instead — but not the old state-run capitalist economies that the Soviet Union, Maoist China etc once had, and which North Korea, Cuba etc still have today.

Putin blames those in control of NATO, America and ‘the West’ for the horrific war in Ukraine, and therefore doesn’t see all the deaths, injuries and destruction as being his fault. Whereas NATO, America and the West do blame Putin and his regime. In reality, all these leaders and their countries’ rival ruling classes and competing economies are to blame. Fuck capitalism!

false capital

When large well known cities are not the capital of a state, the capital usually winds up being a city that no one ever hears about. Examples, Harrisburg PA, Albany NY, Carson City, Nevada etc.

Person: Wtf? Philadelhpia isn't the capital of PA? NYC isn't the capital of NY!!?!? Las Vegas isn't the capital of Nevada?!?!?

Me: Yup, there all false capitals

capital accounts

Capital (in economics) refers to either equipment used to produce goods (tools, factory buildings, infrastructure) or money that is currently used to pay for business ventures. Capital accounts refers to the balance of investment that a country receives from, or supplies to, other countries over the course of a business period. So, for example, in the course of a year the people in country A may buy $1.5 million in shares and bonds from overseas, and sell $900,000 of the same (for net capital exports of $600K); meanwhile, foreigners might buy $1.2 million in shares, etc., while selling $800K of the same (capital imports of $400K). The country therefore exports $600K, imports $400K, and runs a net capital account balance of -$200K.

Over the short run, a capital account surplus can offset a current account deficit.

For the last 30 years the USA has run a surplus in its capital accounts, partly offsetting a gigantic deficit in current accounts.
