Selena Gomez, being defined as - Selena Marie Gomez, born July 22, 1992, is an American actress and singer. Gomez began her acting career at age 15 in a Disney Channel series, but soon proved that her musical talent was even greater, with a string of hit singles and albums.
Raised in Texas, her first break came as a cast member on the children's series Barney and Friends. Gomez landed minor roles on other television shows, but it was her affiliation with the Disney Channel - which discovered her during a nationwide talent search in 2004 - that officially kick-started her acting career.

One thing people don’t know about sel is that she suffers from a autoimmune disease called lupus, which almost ended her life. But she had a friend donate her a kidney and is now living better than ever! Selena is an icon and deserves more credit for her hard work.
