The result is a dirty, heavy and noisy guitar sound and a voice pushed to its maximum spewing the emotions of the singer's personal life. The popularity of grunge is also spreading in people's lifestyles and outfits. The end of grunge was marked by the death of Kurt Cobain, lead singer and guitarist of the world's most popular rock band, Nirvana. Today, many alternative rock bands have been influenced by Staley's powerful vocals, Grohl's squared and precise drum beats or McCready's brilliant guitar riffs.

A fusion genre of punk rock, alternative rock, and heavy metal produced by members of the Seattle underground rock scene from 1985 to around 1994. Grunge musicians could be identified from their preference for extremely comfortable clothing (often flannel shirts and jeans), a tendency to be kinda smelly, anti-capitalist and feminist lyrical themes, and disregard for societal norms. Stereotypically addicted to heroin or some other heavy drug. Grunge musicians did not identify the genre of music they played, it was really more of a marketing term
Early grunge sounds like a bunch of 14 year olds in a garage band while later grunge sounds much, much more polished.

a sub culture that actually existed in the 90s but now people are acting grunge. grunge people are people who don’t give a shit and ARE NOT homophobic, transphobic, racist, or any kind of asshole. they piss off people who are stupid and are bitches. they do whatever they want and say fuck the world. they listen to Nirvana, Hole, Alice in chains, etc. not Lana Del Ray, or any of that indie bullshit. i am not disrespecting them, but it’s not grunge.

An alternative aesthetic for those people who like to dress normally but want a title. It will consist of bland colors like brown, white and black. People using this aesthetic will think they're so quirky and different but aren't.
