The New "Traditional" Prep:
African American, Asian, Hispanic, and other Non-European ethnicities: Typically several generation American, although there is a rise in 1st generation individuals. Families are typically either incredibly wealthy (more so then typical Caucasian preps) or have slightly higher than average incomes.
Own several homes, but usually do not belong to the Country Clubs (only applicable to 1st generation individuals and newly arriving ones).
Shop at J.Crew and Ralph Lauren, and spend the summer in Africa, Asia, and/or South America.

Snobby stuck up jerks that think they're better than everyone else. Wear tight fitting clothes that show everything. Wear 50 million gallons of bright caked on make up everyday. Only accept theyre friends and no one else. Love boys. Thinks everything that they dont like is immature and will tell you to grow up and get a life. Do not know how to have fun. Theyre hair has to be perfectly styled everyday or else they throw a fit until theyre mommy and daddy give them theyre weay as always. If your fat your not a prep. Will usually complain how suckish theyre life is when its great. Acts like they love everyone but theyre BACKSTABBERS!

A word that people misunderstand. I myself do not wear that type of clothing, but being preppy is an attitude not what clothes you wear. I am a punk but it doesn't mean I hate people who wear hollister or anything, and those that do are the real preps.

generally someone who often wears Abercrombie and Fitch, American Eagle, Hollister, Lacoste, Juicy Coture, Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, Tommy Hilfiger, etc.
this person is most likely preppy if he or she constantly wear one or more of their brands, and/or it seems like these brands make up their wardrobe.

Hmmm... where to start? Contrary to most people's beliefs, it IS appropriate for a preppy person to wear Abercrombie or Abercrombie & Fitch. It's just the skin tight or slutty clothes from there are not acceptable. The wear 7 For All Mankind jeans, UGG boots, Lilly Pulitzer, Burberry, ABERCROMBIE (Oh yes they do. Or at least in Potomac, Maryland, which is one of the preppiest towns in America, they do), Ralph Lauren, J. Crew, Lacoste, and usually carry bags from Coach, Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton and various designers, including the favorite, Vera Bradley. The Tiffany & Co. heart braclet and necklace are necessary, and flip-flops are frequently worn. In winter, it is not uncommon to see a North Face sweatshirt, or waspy, bright prints. Usually seen with a pair of Chanel sunglasses. Very conservative in style and rich. Most steer far from Juicy Cotoure, as it gives off more slutty vibes.
Kendall looked totally preppy in her Lacoste polo and Lilly Pulitzer skirt, with her pink and green stripe C.K. Bradley flip-flops. And her Tiffany necklace completed it.

A bunch of rich kids who think they are above everyone else. They sometimes wear skate shoes, then they dis on skaters. Sometimes go to private school. Hated by everyone except themselves.
