Racially Stranded

Or Racial Stranding. It happens when a multiracial person doesn't feel belong to either race of his parents. It is an "In Between" state.

Similar to Culture Stranding

Matt's white friends think he is to "Asian" and his Asian friends think he is too "White"; His is Racially Stranded.

Racial Fear

Racial fear is the irrational fear that Black, Indigenous, and people of color are dangerous. It often shows up as unpredictable and harmful reactions directed at communities of color. Racial fear actually endangers Black, Indigenous, and people of color.

When the white woman on the sidewalk clutched her purse as I walked passed, I knew she was exhibiting racial fear.

racial passive

Similar to white privilege, a "racial passive" is a term to say Jewish people have an advantage/get away with more than others.

It can generally be used to describe someone with an advantage due to being a certain race.

When Jose said I had a "racial passive" it was a code for me allegedly being Jewish.

racial capitalism

A social and economic system of removing social and economic value using markers associated with race (e.g. such as dark skin or people of African descent) while attributing social and economic value using markers associated with race (e.g., white/light skin or people of European descent).

Example - Wealth is assigned to predominately white U.S. neighborhoods at higher rates than predominately Black, Hispanic, or Latinx neighborhoods. As more middle and upper class White families move into neighborhoods (gentrification) the property values increase but the reverse happens when Black families move into formally homogenized White neighborhoods.

See Cedric Robinson and Charles Mill's work around racial capitalism.

Racial capitalism has assigned value to Whiteness in that those of European descent are often given lower interest rates on loans than those who are not.
