Someone who emulates a hardened persona, usually through claims of past hardships and character defining struggles. Usually these claims are exaggerated or entirely fictitious.
"I swear all these SJW's suffer from a veteran complex. They wouldn't know hardship if it walked up and slapped them in the face!"
A Bean Complex is when a person, normally a male, develops an attachment to a possibly sexual event involving a specific person. He then proceeds to never let go of this memory, seeing as it may very well be the last event like this he/she will ever experience, and shares it with as many people as he/she possibly can, including the person involved in the event.
James: Dude, Jack has developed such a bean complex for what happened with Alice last night.
Jack: Hey guys! Remember that time with Alice when we "high-fived" all night? Good times.
