Usually due to a lack of social identity and a psychological, some say pathological need for acceptance.
Often either unable or unwilling to either research or understand elements of their own cultural identity, feel the need to adopt that of others.
Generally found to be of comparatively low intelligence, regardless of class/financial background.
The adopted street slang and accent is often not reflective of their upbringing or intrinsic social position, but again, a desire to gain acceptance.
Self absorption regarding this social faux pas renders them blinkered to the derision of other social groups - often vilified by both their 'non-wigga' social conterparts
and the very people they seek to emulate.

A wigga is a white guy trying to act black, ghetto, etc. While this is redonkulous for those suburb white boys in some cases wiggas get treated wrongly.
Black guy: "yo cuz look at that punk ass wigga thinkin he black. Ima go drop that bitch"
White guy: "dude is you crazy? I've been through more struggling and shit than you. Our president is black and slavery is long gone so don't try to play the racism shit on me. Also your dad has a Range and you bring 50$ to school errday, and my fams livin on fuckin welfare and I have no dad...so I've been through more shit than you check yoself."

a white boy who talks like a valley girl, uses expressions like "talk to the hand", yet still dresses in oversized jerseys fitted caps way too big for his tiny little head, and pants falling off his scrawny little white ass.

The first wiggas were people like Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton and Stephen Stills, who made alot of money promoting the social diseases of the ghetto....drugs, divorce, alcoholism, irresponsibility, and after popularizing all of the above, and helping make the world into the ghetto it is today, went into rehab, forsook ghettoisms, got married, and continued making lots of money singing the "blues."
