Tilde Effect

The tilde effect is a term coined by Samuel Booton, which states that once you discover something and what it does, it will be more featured within your life. Example, if you discover an obscure song on Youtube but the next day you hear it on the radio. The tilde effect is named what it is, due to Samuel not previously not knowing the name of a tilde (~). But soon after his friend told him what it was called, he heard people no longer call it a squiggly, but a tilde.

Guy: *hears song
Guy: huh, this is catchy!

*five years later*
Guy: *finds song
Guy: Oh! That's what it's called!
*song becomes a hit*
Guy: Weird, I guess that's the tilde effect.

Falcons effect

An effect where your team or another team in sports choke a big lead in a game, mainly when there's barely any time on the clock.

This term originates from Super Bowl 51 (LI) when the Atlanta Falcons stupidly choked a 28-3 lead against the Patriots somehow.

Viewer: "I can't believe my team choked a bloody 2 point lead in soccer!"
Other viewer: "What a Falcons effect!"

The Farley Effect

When a sheep (or person who blindly let's the world think for them) goes into denial from a challenged worldview based on fact.

Did you see how Jan got when Jake told her that American's committed mass genocide on Indians? She had The Farley Effect!
