An internet wide joke to associate a specific type of person who
1. Is often into spirituality
2: Often leftist if not just left leaning
3. Has a sense of faux nonconformism despite interests/hobbies being a common trait among many people.
4. A certain (very common, mind you.) Style and overall personality. (Common interests include things like frogs, minimalistic smiley faces, and rainbows.)
Can also be used as a stereotype to describe an overall type of woman, more often than not, a bisexual woman.
Jan: Ugh, Melanie is being such an Emily right now. She thinks she's soooo special.
Mac: Yea, she bought one of those dumb frog bucket hats. It's just so unoriginal.
The kind of girl to post about not being like the other girls on Instagram. An Emily thinks that preferring Netflix and snacks over partying and boys is quirky and cool. The most basic white girl name out there.
Girl 1: Guys, is it just me or do you guys just don’t like to party and prefer watching horror movies?
Girl 2: Ugh, she’s such an Emily.
The white straight people (although they will probably tell you they’re Pan sexual) people who care more about minority/gay/trans issues than minority/gay/trans people. The epitome of virtue signaling and white guilt. It is “pick me” behavior at it’s worst. Likely has blue hair.
Tells straight men they’re transphobic because they don’t want to sleep with a MTF, and tells gay men they’re transphobic for not wanting to sleep with a FTM.
Tells people they’re culturally appropriating, and I ironically is a “KPOP Stan” despite not speaking Korean.
Caleb: “Some chick on Twitter called me transphobic because I said that sexual preference doesn’t mean that someone hates other people or doesn’t support them, and it’s ok to not want to date someone based on their genitals.” Me: “yeah dude she’s an Emily.”
She’s “not like other girls”. Probably has crackhead energy. Anyone can be an Emily. Emily also gets made fun of a lot because it’s easy. One of the most generic names but at least it’s better than being named Emma.

Most Emily's aren't the best, but this one's special. She's absolutely stunning, and can light an entire room up with her smile. She has a cute lil gap, that gives her character and charm. She's one of the funniest people you'll ever meet. She loves to spread positivity, and is a great reminder that there's still some good in the world. Emily will always bring you up, and can make you laugh on your worst days. She's beautiful, inside and out.
Emily is such a wonderful person.
