Any one of any age. Does not neccesarily mean depressed (like Goths). Don't want to kill themselves. DO have dark hair (not greasy) and are often pale, from not going outside much. They like bands like Green Day, Good Charlotte and White Stripes (I would know). Only a very small percentage of emos kill themselves. Emo is also a genre of music, like Good Charlotte sings. Some people think Emos are hated by everyone. I get bullied at school for being one.

There are two kinds of emo:
1 - Fake emos -
"Fake emos" think they have to wear tight clothes and have black hair to be emo.
2 - Real emos -
"Real emos" have real problems and dont always look how fake emos look. Real emos dont try with all their might to get attention for their problems but, pretend to be happy with the occasional cry for help.
Fake: O.M.G. My life SUCKS.(Lieing)
Real: Aw, cheer up emo kid.:)(Dying inside)
Fake: My life is a black abyss.(Drama queen)
Real: Its a twisted world, my friend.(Still dying inside) :)
Fake: No one understands.(Overreacting)

One of the many pointless stereotypes. Anyone who labels themselves as emo, scene, prep, or whatever are all the same. They just act different.
Get a life, and be yourself emo. I know everyone says to but you should listen. We ALL should.

One of many things people (usually high-schoolers) call themselves in order to fit in with others sharing the same "interests". Emo, punk, goth, chav, townie, gangsta, jocks, preps, all of these (and more) are words used to describe people who dress and act like others hoping to fit in.

Emos comes in different shapes and sizes. Emos are very scary and you might find them out side of Hot Topic. DO NOT mistake them for Goth people. Emos hair is usually blue, pink, or other outrageous colors and almost wear all black clothing. IF YOU SEE THEM AT HOT TOPIC STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An Off Shoot Of 80's Punk, emo is basically a more femine version of punk.
the word emo comes from the word emotive NOT emotional as most people seem to think.
Emo fashion is generally tight jeans, long fringe with the back short, the fringes vary in colour (common colours being red, blue and blonde) but the short spikes are 90% of the time black the rest of the time they have long plantinum blonde hair.
band tshirts and stripy clothing are the norm in emo fashion as is normal shirts that have been modified by them.
in general emos are either christian or athiest though there are a percent who like to fancy the idea of being satanist (but fail miserable as satanism fails)
emo music is made up of many good bands and also many SHIT bands...shit ones being hawthorne heights, the used and underoath. good emo bands are escape the fate, from first to last and atreyu.
emo has been around for ages but it comes and goes, each time slightly different.
a large percent of emo's claim to be bisexual, around a third of the time this isnt true they just think it makes them seem cool.
scene emos are annoy little twats, who piss me off endlessly.
true emos..not scene that is..are usually cool people once you get to know them and soem of my closest friends are emo.
