A democratic institution rigged to oblivion just because nationalistic fanatics won't stop ruining every election in every free state. Elections are also vital to picking a leader and in deciding particular policies.
X: Hey! Did you watch the elections last night?
A: No. Why?
X: Candidate U won with 59% of the vote!
A: Isn't U a nationalist fanatic?
X: I see good in him, don't hate on it. He has a massive political career.
A: His party must've rigged the elections because his supporter base ain't that big.
X: Impossible! His base may be small but the turnout was massive!

A periodic mass ritual legitimising the delegation of popular sovereignty to an empowered few, performed in the name of “democracy” but in reality employed often to consummate its usurpation.
Just as how most students only study for exams rather than for intellectual and spiritual enrichment, most politicians (in a “democracy”) only work for elections rather than serving and leading the people with compassion and vision.
A lot of people in this country went out and voted on election day. All that effort they put into what they did is (always) at risk of being turned into bullshit (despite claims about the whole thing being a democratic process), which is why some people don't vote, they have a good reason not to.
What's the point of an election if the people who hold power don't have any regard for what everybody else in the country wants to happen? That's a king, not a president. Why call it anything else? Why deceive people who went out and voted?

Election refers to the first term.
A concept that became fictional in the 2000s and non-existent in 2020. A system that is supposed to fairly represent a citizens desire for their country and leadership.
