Due to an earlier misapropriation im writing this because Mormon the maker of the book of mormon did state and practice that polygamy was alright. Also some sects of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints do still practice polygamy. Though overall not a bad group of people everyone of them ive met are nice to a point of it being obscene.
Recent news. NBC, CBS and such that was like a few weeks ago though.

"Mormon" is a nickname for people who belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Members of this church received this nickname because they believe The Book of Mormon to be the word of God, in addition to The Bible. There is a prophet in The Book of Mormon whose name is Mormon. He was the last one to write in it, and compiled the other "books" within The Book of Mormon, which is why the book bears his name.
The most important aspect of The Book of Mormon is that it is another testament of Jesus Christ.
"Mormons" believe in God the Eternal Father, and in His son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. They also believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
Mormons are Christians too!
Mormons missionaries serve throughout the world to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Be nice to them!

religious people also known as members of The church of jesus christ of latter day saints. I am a mormon. I love to play frisbee (its the mormons game you might say) we believe in the bible and the book of mormon. we are allowed to drink pop and we do not practice polygamy as many rumors say we do. we are actually pretty normal good people. You may see 2 guy missionaries walking or riding a bike in a white shirt and tie. most likely mormon. you probably have many mormon friends and not know it. being mormon is fun spiritual and clean. I am 14 myself and totally enjoy it. Utah is not our holy city but just a place where mormons were forced to from mobs who for some reason didn't like us.

A religion people love to hate.
Often very backwards and confusing to people who don't take the time to fully understand it. Most simply spew on about missionaries being brainwashed, about living in Utah, and of course, have many wives. But that's not all Mormonism is, it's only the stereotypical tip of the iceberg.
As an atheist I really can't tell you all it's about but, IMO, it's mainly based on forgiveness, being the best you can, and the future of your soul.
Shame Mormon's have such a bad rep...
Typical (foolish) conception of Mormons:
"I want to be a Mormon and have 16 wives and live in Utah and never drink coffee because I have no idea what this religion is actually about!"

Mormons are the only true religion. Our church's foundation is on Jesus christ, familys, forgivness, and eternal life! The book of mormon...thats not just somemade up book, in the restore gosepel, another testament of Jesue Christ. I am mormon and im ridiculed for my religion ALL THE TIME, but the people who ridicule me only do it because they HEARD THATS WHAT WE BELIEVE OR SOMEONE TOLD THEM THATS WHAT WE BELIEVE...well guess what? it isnt true!!,and say all this stuff like we think we can become our own gods , and joseph smith, commited sexual crimes w/ teenagers?!
