Easily one of the best multiplayer games ever, up there with Super Smash Bros. Melee, a bunch of shooters, Crash Team Racing, and Contra.
It does take a while to learn. but once you understand what's going on and that it's a race against the person you're playing against, the game is a blast.
The object of the game is to kill all the viruses in your bottle of pills. Doctor Mario throws pills in that are colored blue, yellow, and/or red. You need to make lines (usually vertically, but horizontally works too) by matching 4 or more of the same color. After a match is made, the 4+ pill halves disappear and the pill halves that are on any side fall down (which could help or hurt you).
So yeah, with those parts that fall down, you can make a combo. When you make combos, the pieces fall into the other players' bottle.
The game is crazy fun, and everyone who plays it and starts to get the hang of it (especially in multiplayer) loves it.

The single greatest sports broadcasting team in the business. They have become very popular in recent months and the Mario and Rod fan club has sprouted up around Comerica Park. Usually the love from fans they receive is written across many bare male chests.
Rod-isms: "Woweee!" "...and Mario, Bradon Inge has been absolutely stellar down there at 3rd base" "Now if you're Jim Leyland..."
Mario-isms: "Mario Impemba alongside Rod Allen" "...Night-cap" "right on cue"
After I got home from a late night at the office, I saw the Tigers replay on FSN with Mario and Rod

The coolest fighters and pizannos in Mushroom Kingdom. Both are skilled, competitive fighters. Neither are neglected.

Mario Kart is a racing game series made by Nintendo, featuring characters from many games starring Mario and his friends. The Mario Kart games are known for their madcap action with unique racing courses and the use of items to sabotage opponents.
Games in the series:
Super Mario Kart (Super Nintendo Entertainment System): The first game in the series revolutionized racing with it unique game play, use of items and two-player mode.
Mario Kart 64 (Nintendo 64): The sequel to Super Mario Kart, it featured amazing graphics and all new courses, plus being able to play with up to four players.
Mario Kart Super Circuit (Game Boy Advance): Going back to the semi-3D days of Super Mario Kart, this game combines the best of both the first two Mario Kart games with new tracks and classic gameplay. This game even has all of the Super Mario Kart tracks available for play as unlockables.
Mario Kart Double Dash!! (Nintendo Gamecube): One of the more insane games in the series, this one changed things over entirely with each kart being driven by two characters, which could be swapped during a race. This also featured the ability to pick from multiple vehicles as opposed to being limited to racing in tiny Go-Karts.
Mario Kart DS (Nintendo DS): The latest game in the series is one of the first to include free online play via Nintendo WiFi Connection. There were multiple karts for each driver, and the game also includes tracks from the previous Mario Kart games.

One of the best Mario games ever created. A beautiful RPG with unique artwork and characters, and overall, kickass. I love this game, and have beaten it quite a few times.
