Act of a single player scoring a touchdown (qb, wr or rb) and then scoring the subsequent 2-point conversion.

6 points td + 2 point conversion = octopus

Jordan wilkins just had a 5 yard touchdown run, and then scored the 2 point conversion to complete the octopus.

The tactical use of a smoke grenade to escape a potentially hazardous situation in Call of Duty, in which one senses danger, throws his or her smoke grenade, promptly yells, "OCTOPUS TECHNIQUE!" at the top of his or her lungs and runs away.
