Movie snobs are generally frowned upon for taking movies and really tearing apart the meat and potatoes. They take the specifics, such as plot, cinematography and other tidbits about a film rather than the enjoyment. They tend to ruin movies for others.
“I really enjoyed that movie! The action scenes were awesome, and there was so much gore!”
“Yes, but if you look past that, the cinematography was a bit wobbly and tilted, and none of the characters were remotely likeable. I could tell who was going to die as soon as they entered a scene.”
“Man, you are a movie snob.”
“Thank you.”

A person who uses their knowledge of technology to make others feel dumb.
She's such a technology snob, always belittling others with her avalanche of acronyms...CPU...LAN...MSN ...like she knows frickin everything and the rest of us are incapable of learning!

Someone who thinks all things should be homemade or made from scratch. They think they are super creative and crafty. Someone who is against using anything from a can in their recipes. Someone who is against using anything from a box. Everything must be organic, whole grain, multiple grain, grass fed, pasture raised, free-range, whole foods. They feel superior to everyone and insult people who don’t do what they do. Because they always do everything perfect. They are so certain of their beliefs being right. Usually someone from New York City, California, Portland.
"Oh, I would never eat anything from a can or box. Everything must be whole foods, organic, whole grain, multiple grain, grass fed, pasture raised, free-range, or maybe take-out. Everything I make is homemade and I always start from scratch. The food and everything else is so much better where I come from." That person is an elitist snob.

A music snob listens to more music than you. As a result they are able to make a better informed judgement on what music is best as they have listened to a wider spectrum of styles. They spend their spare time digging around for music that they perceive to be better than what has been spoon fed to them by the radio. This allows them to hear music that doesn't get credited by major media sources and so aids them in making a better judgement on what music is better.
Often dismissed by others as only liking music on the basis that it is obscure, skeptics of music snobs often choose to make this misinformed judgement because they don't understand the appeal of finding out about less mainstream music. In reality the music snob will prefer less mainstream music solely because it is more original and sounds better.
person 1: "you're such a music snob, you only like music because no one else has heard of it"
Music snob: "Actually I like the music I like because it sounds better and I have spend a lot of time and effort looking for music. It's like looking into a treasure chest. You will pick something from the top and say that it's fantastic, where as I will empty the entire chest, sift through everything and choose only the finest treasure. See what I mean?"
Person 1: "Urgh you're just so pretentious."

A person who bashes all other concerts/venues except the one that he/she is going to. A concert snob always has to one-up others' musical preferences.
Jimmy: " Hey, I'm so excited for the concert this weekend, it's at ____"
Gunther: " Oh yeah? Well I'm going to the ____ concert and it's at the ____ and it's so much nicer and better and cooler than yours. And tickets were a million dollars."
Jimmy: " Stop being such a concert snob. You're pissing everyone off."

A person who references the Beer Advocate website when explaining their opinion of a given brand of beer.
I won't even taste Tecate since its Beer Advocate score is only 61. Also I'm a dirty beer snob.
