A store for punk, goth, emo ect people that overprices clothes, but also has a great selection of belts, belt buckles, plugs, patches and more cool stuff at reasonable prices.
"Dude? why are you going to hot top, the clothes are so expensive?"
"Because i want to buy a new Belt buckle and some plugs."

A store for kids that rebel against abercrombie and the normal trend, even tho it is owned by abercrombie and the kids buying there are trendy.

N.) a shop for clothes, shoes, and lots of random things. a generally "darker" style, but contains merchandise suitable to different tastes. gay to decent to cool range of products, often not worth the price.
Sarah just bought a fairly cool dress at Hot Topic, but it cost like 200 fucking dollars. Damn.

Coming from someone who gets all clothes from there and has never stepped foot in Aeropostale; Hot Topic is the dominant sub-culture store. Its not for clones who wear the same thing, its for the exact opposite really. No, its not a preppy store in the least; if u dont like it stop searching it. Its a killer store with great clothes and loads of other stuff. Its not an Emo/Goth store; labels are for pussys.
