The psychological dilemma that occurs when playing a video game and feeling the need to conserve powerful/unique items til the end of the game in fear of not being able to win without them and instead using worse items. This usually ends in disappointment as the powerful/unique items are then never used but the game is still won in a more difficult manner using the weaker and useless items.
