Cold Friending

A tactic for meeting new people on social networks, e.g., friending someone you found while perusing a mutual friend’s profile, or following someone on a social network without actually knowing them; cold friending is our generation’s version of cold calling for business.

I was just surfing around cold friending people on Facebook and now I'm going to do a project with a couple of the people I connected with.

Cold call

1. Attempting to sell a package of TV channels to a person who does not own a TV.

2. Attempting to get the person who has just stated that he does not own a TV to go and buy a TV.

3. Attempting to convince this person to go and find all his friends and family members who have a TV to switch to the package of TV channels being offered.

4. Attempting to convince the same person who has already has a mobile phone with 17 months on his contract left to run that he should break his contract in order to buy a new mobile phone from the cold caller.

5. Attempting to convince the same person who still doesn't want a TV package or new mobile phone that he should purchase a backup phone in case his current mobile is lost.

I am that person, and this is a true story.

Hi Mr. Hopeful Target, I am giving you a cold call today out of desperation to meet my sales quota at 1.53am to offer you an exclusive package of channels for the television that you don't have!

cold brand

When you get a ice cold drink, walk up next to someone. Then very quickly, yell out "COLD BRAND!" and press the ice cold drink against the target's neck as firmly as possible and watch the target squirm, scream, etc.

Person 1 walks along Person 2, with an ice cold Pepsi in hand
Person 1: COLD BRAND!
Person 2: What?
Person 1 presses Pepsi against Person 2's neck

Otherwise known as the Canadian hot box, a cold box (or cool box) is when you engage in the use of cannabis in an Igloo or northern cave.

It’s too cold to go outside, you down to cold box our igloo and eat some poutine.
