The art of appearing to be productive at work without actually doing anything of any value. In its truest form this involves loud, screeching equipment, foul language, and blaming everyone/everything around the half-asser in a covert manner, i.e. running to the head boss and ratting on everyone else while simultaneously kissing the head boss' ass.

While drinking a tall can of half lemonade and half tea you save a child from drowning at the local pool, while still holding and keeping your drink ok during the rescue. - Half of your attention is on the child, Half is on your Half-n-Half.

Half chat

A more derogatory version of half caste used to describe people of mixed race. Made more offensive maybe by the implied casually dismissive nature of the phrase. Often pronounced arf chat.

Regionally popular in the UK (South Eastern England among older people and possibly a phrase coined by soldiers during the British colonial occupation of India in the 19th century.

“Ooh… what a beautiful baby. Shame she looks a bit half chat though. Who's the father?”
