shit in a tray merchant

British slang for any fast food outlets such as KFC, Mcdonalds, Burger King, as well as kebab shops etc.

Name obviously due to the bullshit that these 'restaurants' serve as food.

'Out the club about three, to the take-away/
The shit in a tray merchants, shops got special perchant for the disorderly'

Negative vibe merchant

A person who is crabby, generally unpleasant, and constantly giving off negativity.

First coined in the 1980s British comedy "The Young Ones" by character Neil, who complained that a negative vibe merchant had boarded up his bedroom. Later used in the mid-90s by the band 311 in their song "Misdirected Hostility."

Some negative vibe merchant, like, boarded up my bedroom...

Merchant Marine Officer

Licensed professional seafarers who work in either the deck or engine departments of Merchant Vessels. They ascend to these positions based on either Maritime College educations, or less commonly through time served and advancements 'up the hawsepipe' through testing.

Deck officers: 3RD Mate (primarily safety officer), 2ND Mate (primarily navigations officer, Chief Mate (supervisor), and Captain (overall command of vessel and personnel)

Engine Officers: 3RD Assistant Engineer, 2ND Assistant Engineer, 1ST Assistant Engineer, and Chief Engineer (in charge of entire engine room and shipboard mechanical/electrical components)

(NOTE: Steward's Department does not consist of any officers, all personnel in this department are unlicensed but certain Stewards carry more authority than others.)

Before becoming a vessel operations manager, Brian sailed as a Merchant Marine officer with Moore McCormack Lines.

Natalie Anne Merchant

This is the name of a wonderful singer whose career height came in the mid nineties with her solo debut, Tigerlily, after her peaceful separation from the band that had made her famous, 10,000 Maniacs. She has since produced several more solid albums and married with a child, little Lucia. It can be used to replace "good god," "holy moses," or the like. As such, the middle name, Anne, is a modifier to imply a more intense coolness, while her first and last names are simply in keeping with normal coolness. It can also be used to express disbelief or surprise.

Example of Intense Coolness-
Girl 1- "Natalie Anne Merchant! Where did you get those shoes!?
Girl 2- "Payless."

Example of Disbelief-
Student 1- "Natalie Merchant! I failed my math test!"
Student 2- "I got one hundred percent."
Student 1- "Suck it, ho."
