A feminist is a person, no matter gender, who wants equality between men and women. Easy as that. Those people who pretend that it means that a feminist wants women to rule over men and feminists says men are trash are just uneducated assholes, and generally most often men who are afraid of loosing their contemporary dominion. All the lookups that are telling those lies was probably posted on the wrong site. They fit better in Urban DICKtionary and has one only purpose: to making you throw shit at feminists because of your ignorance.
So, being a feminist is a great thing that everyone who isn't sexists technically could call themselves if they'd like to. Being a feminist means that you are agreeing to that men and women are alike.

a feminist just wants equal opporutnities to men. They don't hate men, and accept, and like chivalry and many men are also feminists and think women should be paid as much as men. Feminism means that if men cant hit women, women cant hit men. That male rape victims are just as important as female ones, and that it is DEFINITELY not their fault. Femi-nazis are feminists who believe females are better than men. PLEASE do not mix the two up.

An individual who believe that men and women are of equal competence and mental strength and should be treated as such. Believes that a man is an incompetent individual only if there is proof that he is, not just because he is a male. Will get fed up with almost every definition of feminist on Urban dictionary. If any of the above are not true of an individual, THEY ARE NOT A FEMINIST.
I am a feminist, therefore I believe that in court if a male and female individual commit the same crime, they should have the same sentence no matter what gender they are.

A person who works and supports equal gender rights. No matter the gender, they believe all gender is equal and none should be treated as inferior. They support women's rights in making the world a gender equal place.

a group of mentally ill people that seem to get triggered over small irreverent things like the AC, "manspreading" they also have to hate men, typically 300 LB over waite odd color dyed hair. they also tend to make public scenes take gender studies class and make false rape and sexual harassment allegations for simply disliking someone are to get out of a problem.

A wild species of the Homo-Erectus. One of the last of its kind, It tends to be very offended by ANY remarks to its structure or joking about its species. It rivals with the wildly popular species of "men" and will use anything that is in their nature against them.
