Me yes im emotional, NO im not depressed all the time,I live a happy ass motherfucking life! & Idk what all this shit is about "OMG there so whiny & annoying & they complain about everything" Bcuz thats a fucking lie, Maybe if you stupid ass fucks didnt hate & abuse emo/scene kids SO much then maybe there wouldnt be anything to complain about! I mean we have feelings you dumbfuckss! Yes, Most emo/scene kids wear skinny jeans & band t-shirts, & converses. Wristbands, have piercings, colorful beast hair... Gauged ears..Most listen to screamo & rockk any type of musicc from them categories & Theres tons of them, But most people fall into the style not knowing what it is & then later find out, Not all emo's cut themselves, I do, But not 24/7 ,SO no we are not copycats, We make it origional in our own ways, I know i doo, SO dont fuckin call me a copycat! SO there thats my definition of EMO! So fuck off you fags & get a life you lil' faggot ass fuckers always misunderstand the term "Emo."

emo

well i never thought i would be here writing a definiton about emo but i have heard (and read) a lot of shit about emos.i myself am emo so please feel free to call me a fag i dont really care i have more important things to do than worry about what you ppl think. So to claer things up,
emo: does not mean being gay or bi wearing black and cutting oneself listening to dashboard confessional or taking back sunday.being emo isnt being depressed or angry all the time like some of these deffinitions have led you to belive.
now,the true emo: is over emo-tional so yes emos can be happy sad angry or surprised and have feelings just like any other human being.they listen to rock bands, and sometimes goth bands in other words very loud music and they also listen to sad songs. emos usually find themselves to befriend other emos goths punks or skaters and some preps and ghetto kids.they r very creative and usually quiet (unless happy then the get a little loud) they mostly dont care what ppl think about them but when teased or bothered they will remain calm and silent.they mostly dress in dark cloths but also wear colorful cloths too.emos r very nice and r usually good students and get good grades. i cant say all emos dont cut but the ones who do mostly have a good reason to.

*emo girl* hey guys!* sits down*
*everyone* hi!
*emo boy* *sits next to emo girl* hey do you have the notes from science class?
*emo girl* yea here *hand notebook to emo boy*
*emo boy* i think you gave me the wrong notebook but nice draings by the way.
*emo gir* opps thank you *hands emo boy correct notebook*
*emo boy*hey wanna have lunch together so i can show you some of my drawings?
*emo girl* sure id love to have lunch with you.

emo

A term teens give to themselves when they feel that life has become pointless. What they don't realize is that when they say "No one understands me" there are hundreds of normal people that don't like life as much as the "emo" people do, and they just deal with it. Emo people are just hungry for attention, and they believe that this attention will get them somewhere. The irony is, you'd think that given how much they hate life, you never see an emo person actually kill themselves and get rid of it, rather, they continue posing and getting all the attention they can.

Normal person: What's with you?

Emo Person: My life is closing in, and I'm unloved and no one understands the pain I go through.

Normal Person: Um, sorry but Everyone goes through life, you're no different.

Emo Person: You don't understand. You've never hurt yourself to get to the next day.

Normal person: Uh, if it sucks that much, why do you look forword to tommorrow to bring pain and suffering instead of killing yourself and ending the pain alltogether?

Emo Person: ...*silence*...

Normal person: Poser...

'emo'

describes a kind of music that has miraculously branched into a subculture of people. an 'emo' kid has a lot of product in their hair, bracelets, jeans that are far too tight, a studded belt and an xs t-shirt featuring a band with a lot of eyeliner. they cut themselves and write bad lyrics with the blood. these people are so horrible, they get broken up with on a daily basis. fortunately this fuels their entire paradigm.

an 'emo' kid has long bangs.
this is to shield them from a cruel judgmental world that will never understand.

emo

Emo isn't about the look at all, it's started to be now but many are just posers, emo is an old music genre-an offshot of punk/post hardcore. But since some lazy reviewers have started calling pop-rock emo it's got worse.

Self expression features heavily and is a good thing to do esp. through art, poems and songs. The "Self-harm" can be for various reasons; a common one is distraction from emotional pain because for all physical pain emotionally it can be so much worse. Others, due to a fragile state of mind need to be reminded that the're still alive in a droning and all-to-painful world.

But if you really think it's about fashion (well the streo-typed fashion); i'm a guy with long blonde *curly* hair, not emo, i wear whatever i feel like and never vans etc., not emo, i hate streo-typed emo music, not emo.
So yeah, after all that i'm known as an emo, i don't label myself as due to stereo-types i am many things-none of which are emo.

Look around. Emos may not look how you look just accept society.

Emo

Emo is ONLY an insult given by Punks directed towards the avid fans of Emotive Hardcore Punk & the genre itself. Emotive started in the mid/early 80's in the D.C. Hardcore scene. Emotive is essentially watered down Hardcore Punk. This type of music wasn't accepted in the scene, thus the term Emo was born.

2 of the most noted bands to take this form of Punk in a new direction, was Rites Of Spring & Embrace. Guy Picciotto, the lead singer of Rites Of Spring; most famous for his work in Fugazi, paved the way for what we now know as Emotive Hardcore Punk. Ian MacKaye, most famous for his Hardcore Punk band Minor Threat & the creation of Straight Edge; was also was a defining band.

Emotive in the '80's resembled it's parent genre, with more emotionally charged lyrics & a new tone. But in the '90's Emotive took a totally different feel.

Emotive in the '90's took a more Indie feel to their music. More commonly known as Post-Emo, it was bands like Cap'n Jazz, Jets To Brazil, Joan Of Arc, Sunny Day Real Estate, etc etc... Cap'n Jazz helped transform emo from a deeply underground Punk sub-genre, into a more widely accepted subset of Indie rock.

Emotive in the '90's also gave birth to what we now know as Screamo (Skramz). Screamo (Skramz) is somewhat of a misnomer. Though the genre often had screaming vocals, it wasn't the focus of the genre. Skramz is a more chaotic way of playing it's parent genre.

Rites Of Spring is Emo.
I Hate Myself is Emo.

Dashboard Confessional is NOT Emo.
My Chemical Romance is NOT Emo.

After School Knife fight is Skramz.
Toru Okada is Skramz.
Avenged Sevenfold is NOT Skramz.
Bullet For My Valentine is NOT Skramz.
