social knowledge management

A community where knowledge is shared, rated and redistributed ongoing.

A two-way wiki is one example of social knowledge management or a shared social space such as a social network or VR social space where information can be recorded and shared.

social stacking

The practice of attending multiple social functions consecutively. A sign of popularity. May be reduced to "stacking". The person who has such a busy social life is a "stacker".

Popular chick A: What's on tonight?
PC B: I got the dinner at Bev's, then meeting Aldo for drinks at (the coolest place in town here), the Jackie's wants us to meet her at Chang's for dancing.
PC A: I so love social stacking.

Social Media Coward

An extremely weak and insecure individual that blocks someone they have an issue with on social media and then proceeds to use that same social media platform to post negative status updates or emotional rants directed at the person(s) they blocked. The social media coward engages in these acts on the assumption that the person(s) they are referencing and taking "shots" at likely will not see posts nor be able to respond.

Jack was dumped by Jill at Starbucks this morning. Afterwards, Jack went home, cried, and posted several status updates on Facebook directed at Jill explaining why he had to break up with her. Being the social media coward that he is, Jack blocked Jill on Facebook so she could not respond and tell the truth, thus Jack was able to successfully play the victim.

social antibodies

Silicon Valley investor and writer Paul Graham coined the term to describe an observation that a population develops “social antibodies” in response to behaviours that have come to be perceived as harmful.

An example he cites is cigarette smoking. Once a popular and accepted habit even within intimate spaces, after smoking was banned in enclosed spaces it quickly became socially unacceptable aided by vocal people who acted like messengers in the system.

It could be argued that a busybody and a social antibody are two sides of the same coin.

Social antibodies are forming around the issue of media companies giving a platform to misinformation.

Social Media Refugee

Those people who no longer are allowed on major Social Media platforms, despite never breaking the Community Standards. Attempting to create their own platforms results in the shadowy players getting ISP'S and Server Hosts to deny them service, thus leaving them essentially voiceless in today's society. My friends, I regret to inform you I am now one of the Social Media Refugees.
