break

break section of a record or song. The word “break” means the short section of a record that can be looped on a sampler to create a longer, seamless piece of music from this one section. The term derives from the “breakdown”, a part of the funk or disco records where most of all the other instruments drop away, leaving the drummer, or maybe the drummer and percussionist, or drum and bassist, to play their parts unaccompanied. This provides an instant rhythm section to create a new tune from!
These breakdowns came from the 60’s and 70’s funk production and artists like James Brown, who invented the use of the third beat. Before James Brown all popular music has been using a straight 4/4 time beat. Using the beats in between is what made it funky.

Break

When two people who are in a relationship decide they need space from each other. They are not broken up, but they're not necessarily together still. Usually one person will expect the other to not flirt or do anything with other people while on the break. They also have intensions of staying together. Also known as being in a relationship, but it being complicated.

Girl 1:"Yeah, we're on a break."
Girl 2:"Oh are you two gonna get back together?"
Girl 1:"We're still in the relationship, it's just complicated.."

Break

When some one in a relationship want a little time to their self's even after every you’ve been through. Like when this guy said I think we need a break 5 days before our 3 months and it came out of no where and he said it right after I had given him an I love you text. Breaks can last a long time and I am still not currently out of mine, he says he will still love me but I’m afraid that he’s going to lose feelings. In my feelings i feel like it is okay to maintain a streak on snap as me and my friends have as our significant other and them have been on a break, though that means it might hurt more doing that but not actually talking to them, breaks do hurt, a lot and im sorry if you are going through one

“E”: “I think we need to take a break
“Other speaker”: “well thanks, that hurt”

The Break

A nick-name for an arcade named "8 On 'The Break'" (8otb) that is located in Dunellen, New Jersey.

The Break is where all the cool people hang out, like Happy Days.

Chef: "Hey adam, do you want to go to the break?"
Adam: "Not today, I'm broke"

BOY: i need time to get my life back together.

GIRL: so you’re breaking up with me?

break in

1) to forcefully enter a building.
2) to work on an object or article of clothing to make it less new (break IT in).
3) to have sex with a virgin (break HER in).

1)
When the Tri Delts got to McDonald's too late and it was closed, they realized they would have to either break in or face the terrible possibility of not getting their favorite food in the world, the triple XXL double cheese bacon burger.

2)
Banana Republic salesman: "Now this outfit would look totally cute on you, but it may take some time to break in."
Josh Hartnett: "I'll break you in."
Banana Republic salesman: "Oh yeah big boy, I'll meet you in the dressing room in 5 minutes."

3)
Rob: "Congratulations on the wedding, buddy."
Brad: "Thanks. I'm so happy Sally stayed a virgin for me all these years."
Rob: "Hate to break it to you, but that's bullshit. I broke the bitch in a few months ago when she was passed out at Jeff's party."

The 1st shot in a pool match.
