British Punk band circa 1976-1985; original members consisted of Joe Strummer (vcls/gtr), Mick Jones (vcls/gtr), Paul Simonon (bass/vcls) and Terry Chimes (drums).
Hailed as "The Only Group That Matters", The Clash not only stayed loyal to their punk roots, but were able to branch off with forms of ska, dub, jazz, soul, funk and even rap.
A band whose lyrical mill dug deep into social taboos as well as mainstream culture, famous for their politically angst driven lyrics, and for caring so much about their fans, that they relased double or triple albums under the same price as for a single album (thus having their OWN money deducted by record label)...
ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS TO EVER WALK THE PLANET EARTH. PERIOD.

The Clash

An amazing band that influenced many bands that exist today. Considered part of the "punk" genre. NEVER SOLD OUT! Selling out is a stupid phrase used by idiots trying to sound like they know what they are talking about and are too good to like a band that has any fans. The Clash branched into many different genres with their music including reggae, jazz, disco, punk, rap, and just about anything you can imagine. R.I.P. Joe

THE BEST PUNK BAND EVER. IF YOU SAY THEY WERE NEW WAVE OR POP PUNK YOU OBVIOUSLY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT MUSIC.unlike all those stupid new "punk" bands they actually had talent. go out and learn to play better than them before you go insulting it!

The Clash was one of the most talented groups ever. anyone who says differently is just retarded and knows nothing baout music.

bullshit.. Blink 182 is nower near punk. Punk didnt change, it died in the 80s with the Clash and in the 90s boy bands picked up guitars and called themselves 'punks'

The Clash: Riotting 4 a cause and standing up for what you beleive in. Blink 182: Singing about Girlfriends (dont get me wrong. I like Blink 182 but i wud NEVER call them punk)
