The social and mental way that one expresses oneself. An extremely touchy subject, because of people with no actual knowledge on the subject like to debate over it.

There is proof of there being more than two genders, get over it and let people be happy with who they are.

Gender

Gender is NOT about what is physcally between your legs, but is what you feel of which category you belong in the gender spectrum. For example, agender, gender fluid, cisgender, bigender, etc.

"Hey, did you hear that Jane came out as bigender?"
"They did? That's really nice for them!"

The way that you choose to identify yourself, usually as a male or female.

For some reason, people keep confusing it with sex, which is determined by your genitalia at birth.

There are some people who feel like they do not feel as if they fit under the two binary genders, known as male and female. These people are called non-binary.

People who’s gender and sex are the same are known as cisgender. People who don’t are known as transgender or non-binary.

1. My gender is the same as my sex. I am cisgender.

2. My gender differs from my sex. I am transgender.

Gender

Not the same thing as sex. Gender is what you identify as despite what you were assigned as birth. Gender is what you are. While female and male are the most common ones, you also have transgender, binary, agender, gender-fluid, and the list goes on. It is important to respect others no matter what you personally believe in.

Many over react when it comes to gender and gender identity on both sides of the 'issue'; however it is important to remember not to force you opinions onto others and do not blow up when someone argues with you. *I am looking and people on both sides*
