Most often an evening in which a group of men tell their females that they are going out to do one thing or another together as men. Most often an excuse to meet up at a bar and from there see who can get in the most trouble without actually getting into any shit.
After last night's guys' night out i'm kissing my girlfriend's ass while drinking large quantities of water.

a widely used excuse for an evening of homo-erotic activities (fighting, exposing parts of the anatomy, etc) used by males who would rather, (if it weren't so socially unacceptable to their peers) have sex with men, but are too afraid to come out of the closet.
"Erm, dear, i'm off out with the boys on a guy's night out. What? Erm, no i'm sorry, i, er, haven't seen your pantyhose..."

My understanding of the definition "guys night out" is lying to your/wife girlfriend about a trip to Las Vegas, going clubbing in your 30's with male friends, spending time at a topless swiming pool and spending lots of money on gambeling, alcohol and strip clubs. Oh~ and part of going this route of guys' night out is making sure that other friends and family members are "in on it" so esentially having them lie for the boyfriend/husband as well. Last thing, sharing a king-size bed with your BFF is also part of the guys' night out have a good time thing.
Hey honey, my friend just got great seats at a Vegas boxing event and the hotel is paying for everything (when infact there never was any boxing event)and other than that we will just have a guys' night out you have nothing to worry about, and I love you and miss you.

a night out where a bunch of guys set out to do something that their conciences won't let them do. the attached guys usually end up bailing out their single friend out of jail because he's the only one who actually had guilt-free fun!

A reply given to someone who wishes for something because a part of their life is unfair, basically stating that life is full of good and bad things. In essence, wishes mean nothing.
This is the earliest version of the saying, with the reference to Germans eating shit coming from American soldiers in WWII.
You know what they say Ted: Wish in one hand, shit in the other, and see which hand the German guy eats out of.
