A portion of the city of Los Angeles bordered on the west by the city of West Hollywood, on the north by the Hollywood Hills and San Fernando Valley, and south and east by various other sections of Los Angeles. It is a word falsely used to describe "plastic, selfish, and stuck up" people, as well as the entertainment industry, although the portion of Los Angeles called Hollywood is actually a mainly residential area, with many cultures and backgrounds. It's also not exactly the safest area of the city in many parts, regardless of its perception.
There are tourist attractions but it's no different than any other area known to outsiders.
Guy: "Man I can't stand all that Hollywood bullshit"
Me: "Have you ever been to Hollywood?"
Guy: "No"
Me: "Come back and repeat that statement when you do. Also, when you're there, be careful."

A nickname given to a person who looks good on the social networks, pretends to be of high class and rock fame and successful, but in reality is none of that. See Catfish, but only in Hollywood's case, he will portray himself as the victim.
Person 1: That dude is a Hollywood, if I ever saw one.
Person 2: No doubt turns to the dude they were talking about "Hey hollywood!"

Area in California. People think it's "all that" and only famous people live there, which in REALITY it's just another city in America. It has just been characterized differently by modern-day pop culture and the media.
Friend 1 (over phone): OMG Hollywood must be awesome!

To completely change a event that happened 100- percent around to benefit him self. So say one person lost some dope and told another person (the one going to do the hollywooded)well just call him Hollywood ,that it was somewhere on the floor.now Hollywood being the dope fiend he is knocks the person out cold with a bed frame and runs downstairs to tell everyone the person he just knocked out for her dope has overdosed. so her calls 911 so the paramedics come and take the (overdosed) / knocked out person to the hospital. leaving Hollywood alone with as much free time as he needs to search her room for the dope that was missing.

That new film has been hollywooded so much, that it has absolutley nothing to do with the book.
