To conspicuously show off how humble one is. To advertise that one doesn't have an ego, that one doesn't want or seek status or attention, doesn't care about fame/fortune, etc.
Look at John humility bragging about how he never takes credit for anything!
What a mid-evil-times knight experiences after being bested in battle. Something knights seek as a way of finding someone worthy enough for them to serve. A knight without humility is a knight without a banner to ride under. What king Arthur teaches Lancelot in Excalibur. The General breaking, humbling, or humiliation of a being, after which they realize they are not invincible and learn their place in the world and respect for others who can, and will, stand them on their head. Similar to what the TV show Bully Beatdown tries to teach the undisciplined. An experence better learned sooner in life while stakes are low, rather than adulthood, when other people will not meet Insolence with patience.
"I am Lancelot of the lake. I have yet to find as king worthy of my sword" "That is a wild boast, you lack a knights humility" "Not a boast, but a curse, for I have never met my match in joust or duel" -Excalibur 1981

You assaulted an old man in a bar you piece of shit.
Matt Brown "Show a little humility!"
Hym "I created A.I. and you assaulted an old man in a bar. No."
Humility gets you further than trying to be a superhero.
The media hyping Simone Biles for the Tokyo games actually hurt her more than it helped her. People were aware of what she accomplished, but the media overdid it a little, and didn't allow her much room to enter the Tokyo Olympics with humility, as she did in Rio when she was not as well known. Sometimes when you go back to where you began, you don't stay lost.
Should be reserved for men who are less successful than me BUT NEVER WOMEN.
Hym "Oh yeah, humility is great! So you should do that, Jordan, and come to responsibility for your greatest failure... And give me my 29.95 back."
A play on 20-20 hindsight, 20-20 humility is experienced after a failure due to hubris.
With 20-20 humility and great regret I offer my apologies to those adversely affected by surgeries I performed while under the influence of psychotropics, without a medical license, and indeed without any real understanding of physiology.
